This was not a problem on some beaches with fine sand however another beach mostly comprised of small pebbles and rock was very annoying as it got trapped in the toe guard

Wading in water doesnt help and really only taking them off and rinsing them worked

Ive tried other models with more complicated straps and mesh but they get just as much sand and gravel its just harder to get it out
