I called netgear and they told me it was bricked and that there was no console option but i stumbled upon and followed the instructions on the duteweerd elektronica website for the post called reparatieverslag netgear gs724t v3 english and i was able to reflash the original firmware to the device

The wiring diagram in the espixelstick manual is slightly different than this device so pay attention to the instructions not the picture

I dinged 1 star for not correctly documenting which pin has to be soldered and how to place a jumper for switching to 3 v

Easy to use but since more than likely you will use it for flashing your personal device naturally you will have your own firmware and flash instructions
