Pros
This little plane is amazing. It cuts smoother and thinner than my $250 dollar plane. This product works like a breeze.
Great value. Do the research. My only complaint is with the shipping.
But once you play with it for a bit and figure it out, it is an awesome hand plane. Watch the samarui carpenter.
It glides smoothly. Adjusting the blade was really easy. It's just that much more intuitive to get one continuous motion.
Cons

Well all i did was tap the blade into place and immediately started getting fluffy symmetric shavings

For the cost this is a really good product with a few fine tunings this has been a great buy
First go find a video called 34setting up an inexpensive japanese plane34
I couldnt believe i paid almost 200 for my western plane when i could have started with this
And this is a beginners plane at an entry level price

My plane and another i saw both shipped with the blade upside down
My only complaint is with the shipping
I suspect this is just a shipping safety thing

Ive used hand planes for maybe 2 years as a hobbyist woodworker and being very intrigued by japanese style woodworking ive always wanted to try one of these types of planes

I dont have a brass hammer which is softer than steel and preferred for adjustments so i used my cheap rubberplastic mallet for adjustments

I couldnt recommend this to woodworkers enough and i think i would even tell beginners to start with one to get an easy and cheap entry into hand tool woodworking

I find it so obnoxious that you have to sharpen new planes even when youve already paid absurd amounts of money for them
