Pros
The instructions are in chinglish. The lithium model replaces the alkaline tray with an enlarged lithium battery. The crank feels petty solid and the solar panel folds nicely out of the way.
Kaito ka500 voyager emergency radio is a great radio. Weather channel 24/7, am /fm; shortwave bands. Sensitivity of the tuner is quite good across all bands. Noaa alert setting works good too.
Cons
This radio could get someone into a pickle down the road. Amazon and/or the third party seller have closed the return window and product support window, so we have no recourse. What a scam and a lie.
I think i must have been delusional to have thought that the little nicad battery could do any serious charging on a cell phone. The manual says it takes between 3 and 4 hours to recharge the battery using a usb charger.
The short-wave reception is horrible. No am, fm or shortwave. The manual tuner is coarse and has no fine tuning.
The dial markings are so small i need a magnifying glass to see what setting it's on. It's mostly static and you have to wiggle all the knobs to get them to work right. Radio signal weak, lots of static.

Short wave doesnt pick up anything and that is disappointing as i was hoping to pick up cbc and bbc america if possible
