Pros & Cons
Pros
They are durable and dependable. The only real downside is that i notice myself getting a wee bit over-confident with these fitted. Worth every penny.
The way that the spikes fit over boots or shoes is snug and holds very well. There were no issues when i went to put them on our big snow boots - they fit snuggly. Not to mention putting them on when needed and removing when not was ludicrously easy.
Microspikes are total game changers when on ice. They are terrific in light snow/ice, gravel, hard/medium pack dirt, and light rocks. I'm presently on crutches in the state of minnesota and i live on a farm where the snow and ice are very treacherous.... Read More
I am utterly impressed with the design ruggedness. Downhill is my weakness, and these make it simple and save my legs.
Cons
Wonder if their sizing is off. Will be contacting kahtoola to ask for refund or replacement. They downsized the amount of material used to make these items.
The spikes wear down and flatten quickly, and the chain links break. My snowblower is an 18” toro powerlite that isn’t even self-propelled.

For packed ice and snow the katoolah micro spikes are perfect
I often have them packed for “just in case
Competitiveness
I do not do professional ice climbing so i can’t compare these to those but want to make it clear these are the best i have ever found
Again i assume this brand will last longer but neither brands have given me any issues
I have these and a lower priced model i’ve used them moderately i don’t hike up mountains in winter and both brands have worke... Read More
