Pros & Cons
Pros
K&n reusable filter. Saves money and unnecessary trips to a depot store. Use felt sticky pad to stick filter back in.
They save money, replacing filters every month, within 2 months paid for itself. Pays for itself within a few months. Looks and feels like it is made to last a lifet time.
Cons
Stick with the old filters, at least they're somewhat biodegradable. Will be switching back to disposable/hopefully recyclable merv 13 filters.
Product description sounds like there is a lifetime warranty. The filter is too small for the vent opening for my attic furnace. This is a very expensive filter and nowhere did it claim it would block airflow on ac unit.
K&n filter cleaner and carefully reading the cleaning instructions, very hard to clean. It is more hassle than it's worth.
Leak/puddle on secondary (emergency) pan right below the air handler. Hose rinse just leaves it gray. Cleaner has corrosive chemicals, warning on bottle.
