I put a little soap and water on it to make it slippery and was able to push it down over the lip so it will not come off

They work well but you have to install them the way the packaging says not to

You will not be able to remove it once it is on and it will not turn easily but it also wont leak which happens when installed above the rim due to the lid seal not being tight enough
