It's so much easier and nicer to use than a screwdriver or socket. The flexibility also allows it to reach into less accessible places. As i have a classic car with lots of jubilee clips this tool is a boon.

Ive tried fitting and removing hose clips with screwdrivers and sockets

The former can slip out of the slot and cause damage or injury

This the proper hose clip tool will only tighten them as far as they need to be then the shaft will flex preventing further torque being applied
