The screws supplied with kit fit fine but if you want to use an aftermarket license plate frame you must use the plastic dress button that covers the screw comes in kit or the head of the screw will slip through the license plate frame mounting hole

It will not leave any marks nor rub into your bumpers surface since the hardware to install it has a rubber bushing that creates pressure when tightening
