Pros
Will keep purchasing. Works great, but takes a bit of skill. Particularly useful for model building (railroads, miniature scenes, etc.
Use this on 28awg teflon coated wire. Works well with everything from pvc to teflon and kynar insulations. Very useful tool to strip thin cables.
This is the best precision wire stripper i have used. It is the easiest way to strip wires and it gets the job done. This is a good stripper, takes a little more force than i'd like to pull the wire through the stripping section.
A must-have for stripping delicate wires without nicking. I have yet to experience a misfire. Pro if you're always stripping wire that's the same length, tape the depth slider in place.
Cons
The jonard st-500 claims to accurately strip wire from awg 20 to awg 30. It grabs the insulation but doesn't cut it. The wire gauge dial is inaccurate when you line it up with the arrow. Seems to work fine for 24-28 awg, but there are cheaper alternat... Read More
It still takes a lot of guesswork and finesse to try and get a wire at least half stripped. Flimsy plastic construction is bad enough for a “precision” tool costing $40.

It goes down to 36 gauge though i only used it for a 32gauge wire

I guess they have us over a barrel as there arent a lot of wire strippers for working with tiny wires

I use tefloncoated wire which is extremely slippery and notoriously difficult to strip

Those sharp corners will literally tear a gash in your palm if youre stripping wire for as many hours as i do

If you plan to strip wires to many different lengths this tool might not work well for you see above
