I have no idea where the owners purchased these originally as they are not internet people and home depot ace and lowes does not carry this line now

It is not necessary to purchase the top rail that these vertical pieces sit on

There is no other shelf system that i know of that has available support bars under the brackets

Sterling also makes brackets with no support bar that can be used interchangeably where necessary or you can drillout and remove the existing bracket

I use 3 spax screws square drive to anchor the standards to the wall and 4 spax screws in the very top hole to ensure there is no way the screws will pull out even if i put more weight on the shelf than i had planned
