Works fine on a canon vixia camcorder when holding an led array light however from the description its not immediately clear that its a socket adapter with no electrical contacts its not a hot shoe

The main body is made of plastic only the universal shoe at the top is metal

Note that this is a cold shoe there are no electrical connections carried to the universal shoe on the adapter

I love my canon but shame on canon for thinking they needed to use a proprietary size for their shoe

It does lock fairly securely into place on the canon minishoe but you cant tighten it down like most other hotshoe attachments it just clicks into place with a small lever to release it

It does fit will though with a very small amount of movement
