The cable fits inside my outdoor plug-in while allowing me to shut the weatherproof cover. This one fits very snug and takes minimal space so the silicone camera covers can still be used.

I would not recommend using this without a cover on the outlet box since the actual plugin on the cord is no different than any other plugin as far as theres no weatherproofing on the plug
