Once the unit is charged you just have to plug your phone into it and press the button
It takes about an hour for 50 charge to transfer to your phone
At that point the charging unit only had 3 lights lit up so i imagine its good for two full charges or 4 half charges on an iphone 6
It worked perfectly for what i needed
