The remote not only changes the fan speed 1 to 12 but also switches oscillation on and off

Although you probably dont want it to oscillate if youre riding hard the control allows you to move it a small distance and stop it precisely where you want it so you can change positions and still have it blowing where you want without having to get off the bike
