Pros
The ink dries very quick, no smudging. Seems smooth, like there might be a lubrication quality to it. Works fine with my lamy al-star.
Herbin perle noir ink in my phileas waterman fountain pen. They are the smoothest, most consistent fountain pen/calligraphy inks i have ever used. Herbin inks; perle noire and eclat de saphir are my go to inks.
Don't hesitate in purchasing this item. This ink is thinner than my old ink and all issues were resolved.
Herbin inks look and perform excellently on quality papers. My pilot metropolitan writes much smoother with this ink than it did with noodlers. Nice for a writer who, like me, tends to be a bit careless of freshly inked pages.
The bottle is packed in the j. This is probably not the best way to ship ink, but it arrived safely. My only nitpick is that the bottle isn't entirely perfect. After it's about half-used you may have to put some of the ink into a little sample vial.

With all other inks that i tried my pen would be dry and i couldnt write and i would have to spend 15 minutes messing with the pen
Even with the bottle completely full the ink barely covers past the feed of my pen
Competitiveness
I use it on a pilot metropolitan with a fine nib and a levenger medium nib on a regular basis and im very pleased
All in all a good ink perhaps a hair pricier than i want for a 30ml but it performs nice and not much more to say beyond that
I did use a blueblack pilot namiki cartridge in a different pilot metro but wasnt overly thrilled with it especially compared to this
Pretty dark about as dark if not a bit darker than parker quink and noodlers bulletproof

The bottle design is a bit interesting i suppose you can rest your pen on it but i imagine this only really works for pens that dont have caps otherwise a bit silly

I bought some schaefer black cartridges and after testing one i emptied it and refilled it with the perle noire

Its legible after getting wet leaving behind a dark grey line after the black has bled out to the edges of the water

Jh perle noire doesnt start hard when i stop writing i get a lot of mileage per fill and it doesnt feather too much even on cheap paper
