I did purchase a hanging door pad to be able to press up against a flat surface while steaming but thus far i’ve been able to steam out even serious creases in shirts just by using the wand on the shirts while they hang from the attached metal hook of the steamer

It is not hot enough to cause serious burns but i usually steam my clothes just before wearing them so i cannot speak for prolonged usage
