I believe from doing some research that all of these functions are based on a number of accelerometers that are housed in the watch

Im not sure how accurate the calorie counter is as it doesnt take into account your weight or bmi however i did measure the pedometer and mileage function of the watch against aq gps tracker on my phone and the watch measured up pretty well

On a 15 mile hike the watch showed 14 miles compared to 15 miles on the gps

This might seem a lotbut remember this watch and the more expensive fitbit etc all use the same technology and are all governed by the same failings of using an accelerometerbased measuring so i am more than happy with the data that the watch gives out

As for the watch itself i like the and i think it is called teal blue colour of the strap

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The strap closes around the wrist and locks into place via two stubby pins

The actual working part of the watch is all contained in the face of the watch
