It was in a semiclear bag that was sealed inside the plastic amazon bag then the amazon bag seemed to be cut down in size by heat to seal it which caught the inner bag and left a hole in it

While i would not want tape directly applied to the top because that would leave sticky residue i would suggest wrapping the top in a plastic wrap and taping that
