I also use it to determine my transmission fluid temperature when checking my transmission fluid level with the 2012 impala your transmission fluid must be between 180 and 200 degrees to get an accurate reading the only problem is that there is no way to check the fluid temperature without this device so there is no reliable way to check the fluid level again without this device

Dont know how i was able to finally connect it via bluetooth but it works great now

Not apple ios compatible since apple chose not to implement the serial protocol on their bluetooth interface stack since this is basically an obd ii diagnostics unit with a bluetooth serial modem
