There are a lot of preset buttons on the remote but it shouldnt be hard for nontechies to figure out

The yellow button from the instructions looks more orange and for some of the blues and purples the remote button dont match the light output but does match the instructions description

Alternatively you can pause the cycle modes so if you are quick on that button you can pause on a color you like

In the slowest setting i could set for 7 fade it still goes through the entire cycle of colors every 24 seconds 12 seconds for 3 fade

Id like it to be very subtle and not distracting and as it is it is still way too fast

The other wish is that it could be nonlineofsight but the infrared sensor need to be able to see the output from the remote

It uses the standard barrel connector for an input and has an output that matches the rgb led strip and has an infrared sensor input for the remote
