Pros & Cons

Pros

The plot is well developed and the charactors are very believable. The world events are close to current so that really helps to energize the storyline. Pulse pounding battles and great characters and plot.

This book is well written. The book also stops at the right place; it leaves you wanting more. I am a veteran who served and personally experience ptsd as well as dual amputation of both legs and vision loss in one eye partially the other.

It reads very smoothly and continues along at a brisk pace. Extremely well written and engaging. I like the way it flowed.

Cons

The writing is clunky and simplistic. It hits a lot of classic sci-fi cliche's.

The first book ends without any kind of storyline resolution, and with a giant cliffhanger. At best we get snippets of character development for each of the major players.

The authors did a great job presenting a near future with earth divided into large factions coming out of a global war and traveling to the stars only to find an alien that will most like act as the agent that unifies the planet
