The zodark make an impressive protagonist and the mystery of humans on other worlds keeps it interesting. The characters are rich and the story pulls you in. I am hooked.

The writing was shockingly bad. Text sequences seem to be used over and over, almost like the writer was following a modular formula. The writing is clunky and simplistic.

The first book ends without any kind of storyline resolution. The story will just leave some out for large sections of the book before mentioning them again. Dialogues also reveal some gender bias.
