Pros & Cons
Pros
No it's not audiophile but very good for the price. It's a big unit so be prepared to need at least 17” in depth to fit this inside any cabinet, on a shelf, etc. The remote button labels are hard to read but it works fine.
Running it rca to a yamaha rx a1080 reciever into elac 2. Wolfson dac. Hooked it up to a new yamaha rx-v2085 receiver and aperion tower speakers.
Polk audio t-line, pioneer andrew jones or the elac andrew jones line, or klipsch regular reference line. The remote is simple and identical to the onkyo remote with the only difference in colors.
Cons
This item was returned to the vendor. What a ripoff for the cost. No power cord, no remote.

Price
I thought the price was good for the functionality of 6 discs and sound as good as i can afford
Competitiveness
The standard these days for most highend av components
The overall sound quality seems even better than the vintage highend adcom unit this replaced
Really its only competitor is the yamaha cdc600 which costs more and has a comparatively crappy user interface
Anything produced in mass quantity can break regardless of the price tag
