This is something you should get with the scanner box

As others have stated when they plugged the extension cable up to the scanner it pushes one of the contacts on the scanner back towards the housing of the scanner

Since the contact on the scanner did not go all the way inside i pulled it back out and added a little dielectric grease for lubrication and carefully reinserting the cable

I read someone elses review that said the prongs could come loose so i never unplugged the extension

It would be nearly impossible to perform the steps required for the tests with out a helper

This is so much better than sitting and listening for code beeps and 3 x repetition of code then having to go to a list of codes and retrieve the information
