Pros & Cons

Pros

Merino wool sock has just the right amount of cushion to be comfortable. Very breathable and offers great support. Works great for a mid weight hiking sock.

They almost never smell, unless i’m backpacking on a multi day trip. Even after wearing for multiple days they don't stink. The only and almost negligible downside is that you should air dry them instead of throwing them in the dryer.

Cons

Developed a hole in the heel less than two months after purchasing. Overheat when used in shoes on a warm day (not so with sw) not that comfortable when used for hiking. Sizing is off.

It's probably not a fair comparison since sws are literally triple the price. While comfortable and warm, the quality seems to fall short. Shame on me for trying to find a cheaper alternative.

Packaging/appearance

From the packaging to the ultimate quality of the socks

My only request would be that there would be a pack with all black and grey

Competitiveness

Quality seems as good as bridgedale smartwool etc

I’ve tried a lot of different brands of merino socks

Comparing with the kirkland merino wool socks which are only 14

But they look like because they are thin they will wear out more quickly than the costco kirkland brand comparatively thick mer...  Read More

Base of sock well padded thinner across top of foot

Obviously these would be for very mild conditions as i feel theyd have to be thicker to be considered a winter sock for example
