Pros & Cons

The AI used to provide these results are constantly improving. These results might change.

Pros

The shock is not strong, but it was just enough to keep my dog from jumping the fence. It's winter so there's no need for me to mow for a few months, which has allowed me to just leave me fence above ground for now.

I love that it beeps before it shocks. Watched the dvd training video. They have an in-ground fencing system too so their dog is familiar with the beeps and what it means.

Cons

System works in theory; problem is it's cheaply made. Main control box that is mounted inside the house is completely dead. Purchased a new battery, nothing.

Two dogs stopped wearing the collar within 6 months. Have now had to spend more money on a kennel enclosure. Manufacturer continues to claim the product is a quality product.

The wire is too thin, so it is very easily cut, or the insulation is easily breached. Finding the broken wire over 3 acres is going to stink. The am radio trick (with and rf choke inserted into the base unit) just doesn't work.

Amazon is not willing to refund. Expect to pay another couple hundred bucks every 8-10 months. I am sure this has more to do with quality and workmanship than your suggested charging periods. At $50 each they aren't worth the money.

Kept my two yellow labs in a 3 acre yard for about 8 months

Then all of the sudden one of my labs started running off again the other lab would not cross fence

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Im not sure why the one started running past it all of the sudden

The fence still worked as we tested each time after he ran off and it still put out a shock

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

My two labs are unseperatable so i know if the other one could leave with his brother he would have so i strongly believe the fence was working properly

I think it depends on the dog if its going to be effective or not

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

My dog was able to turn bark collars around so that they would not work right

And of course he refused to be one of those fairy tale dogs who stay in the yard on his own
