It sometimes feels like there is a lot of mythmaking in the story and thats probably intentional but it works to create that sort of sprawling hearsay connect the dots that doc the protagonist follows

I actually experienced somewhat of a learning curve when i started inherent vice not only did i have to get used to pynchons stylish prose but also the stoned meanderings of doc himself
