Externally this is very much like an old clock say a telechron or ge with its enameled steel case i checked with a magnet and glass crystal

And just a like an old telechron it has a silent sweep second hand instead of a ticking incremental movement

Its generic batterypowered movement is accessible on the back of the clock and would be neither expensive nor difficult to replace it that were ever needed
