Several reviewers have pointed out that the rubberish band around the enclosure prevent it lying flat on a desk but in fact the band can be discarded because it has no function beyond hiding the screws

Actually i just revised that to 5 stars because now i remember they included a halfdecent screwdriver to use to do it which shows they actually think about the customer experience

Put in a 1tb samsung sata ssd a foam bung holds the drive in place so be prepared to flex the back of the caddy plastic housing to squeeze the drive in and then push it in tight until you see no discernible gap between the drive connector and the port

Slightly odd design in that the band that goes round the casing means it doesn’t sit flat but i’ve added 4 small clear rubber feet 1 in each corner to remedy this
