There is still room for disagreement about how to improve the system, but it is becoming more and more obvious to many of us, that our representative system doesn't seem to be doing the job that the enlightenment informed views our founding fathers' envisioned for it.

The founding fathers' were wary of a two party system, and despite ironically being the genesis of ours, they likely would be dismayed by the workings of the modern version.
