Pros & Cons
Pros
Evan thomas' "*'s bluff" chronicles dwight eisenhower's time in the white house. The author shows how president eisenhower dealt with this serious matter. The book shows that eisenhower was dedicated to the united states like no other.
The book paints a picture of one of america's greatest presidents, who did almost everything on the sly. Well-written, well-researched, and a joy to read.
Cons
Author would meander around the topic and then write several pages about eisenhower’s love of golf or bridge. Disappointingly superficial treatment of a complex leader handling a complex time. Don’t wast your time.
The reader mangles suaviter in modo, fortiter in re and even manages to mispronounce the french city of calais.
