Pros
Most of my tools are mitutoyo and while this obviously lacks that quality feel, it works good and costs far less. Great depth gauge for us home machinists. Maybe for every machinist. Can say we used every extension with no issues.
Cons
Flat end should be zeroed the same way the ball end is. Since it has a thickness, the zero is off by whatever that thickness is. Clear and obvious machining flaws in the simple parts that are making it past qc.

So far i have been impressed with the accuracy repeatability and flexibility of this tool

When i received mine both batteries were separate from the indicator so that there was no possible way for them to discharge while in storage and transit

I hate using and reading regular depth gauges and usually would use a digital caliper to take a quick measurement of the rod instead of reading the instrument

The unit also has a hold button that allows for the reading to remain static unchanged until the next reading is made

So it invariably has a dead battery

The fix is to cut out the foam insert in the lid so that there is no foam where the buttons are located
