Pros

It has a nicely machined cast iron head and satin stainless rule that is easy to read. The track where the rule rides on inside the head has a lip at either end.

Cons

The 'cheapskate' ends up paying way more for his goods than a wise one. I have much cheaper combo squares that have taken some * and still are working fine. A square isn't worth a darn if it ain't square.

First, the rule is very hard to read. Secondly, the locking mechanism is not very fluid. When you tighten it harder so the rule can't slip using your fingers, it's then impossible to undo with your fingers.

Casting is bad. It’s about 90deg but definitely not within 5 thou. This gauge is a piece of *. It's only a decent square if you leave the blade out both sides of the handle.
