The magnetic material seems to be striated. Small screws (iphone) jump around and you can't place them where you want them.

As far as magnetic project mats this one is probably the best quality

Good thing ifixit included the best quality of marker with their mat

Did not have any issues with the pen like others were reporting so it looks like it may just be a hit or miss

It had no magnetism and the marker was open in the package and dried out

It comes with a very fine tipped staedtler dry erase marker which also has its own eraser

The included staedtler correctable pen works like a charm

Staedtler knows how to make the best marker on the market
