With the latest firmware upgrade which you can get from the ifi website you can at least turn the lights off

By doubletapping the pairing button the lights go off and stay off even though the device is still on and working properly

Periodically as when i get a phone call or text message the two lights come on again solid not flashing but only for a few seconds

If however you shut off the bluetooth function on your phone the pairing light comes on automatically and flashes redblue for 5 minutes

If no pairing takes place after 5 minutes the lights stop flashing and both lights turn off

My only issue with this feature is i think 5 minutes is way too long for it to go into automatic pairing mode when i turn my bluetooth signal off
