Data can be collected by bad people even after a surface erase since there are programs that can recover most quickly erased files

I imagine the hinges being a bend in the molded shell could give way after multiple uses but i am mostly storing the disks not accessing them repeatedly

It would be horrid if my house flooded or burned down and losing data would make it just that much worse
