Mb516sp-b fits perfectly into the open bay. Accommodates 5mm, 7mm, 9. What a great use for the useless 5. Dock. This item breathes new life in my 5.
The icy dock drive bays are the highest quality and most reliable. Each bay has 4 mini sas data slots, each one is equivalent to 4 sata data cables. Power is powered by sata power plugs then connect to motherboard each via sata cable.
Storage my 6 hdd for my server raid very well. If you are looking to add many ssd's but don't want to hassle with finding a hidey-hole to stuff it into, then this device does! I recommend buying more modern card if you can afford it to better take adv... Read More

Metal pins that bind the connector to the pcb are exposed. This is likely to cause elevated numbers of crc errors (usually smart attribute 199, not attributes 184, 187, or 195) remove all drives and wired ssds directly.

Great for small cases and quality is superb
I had problems with the set of cable plus branded sff8643 cables that i purchased they simply did not work
But when i looked close there are already 2 holes in the tray the drive fits into mounting it perfectly flush with the dvd writer

Price is slightly on the higher end but was happy enough as it has been pretty solid thus far
Drive bay in size and engineering and price

Second not a fault of icydock was setting the bios to recognize hotswappable drives and windows 10 to allow it
In each computer case with a 5in bay fast lock the middle drive would scrape against the protruding prongs from the quicklatch
Competitiveness
I had a pair of wd blue 500gb ssds i put in bays 1 and 2 and created a 1tb drive
2tb sas drives in raid 10 to a dell t420 server
Immediately replaced fan with a noctua 40mm for sound
I then purchased a set of 10gtek branded cables which worked fine
