So i added a hook an adhesive hook and loop button to the area that was gapping and now it works fine

There are enough snaps to fit my adult male neck and someone much larger as well as my 4year old 43lb son and it wasnt even on the smallest snap

I wasnt sure if it would wash off after i was complete but to my surprise not only did it rinse right off with warm water it also didnt stain
