caused by the receptacle low cost fixtures often have protruding bolts on the outside ie top of the receptacle which strike the can and prevent the retaining ring from seating against the ceiling these lamps fit fine with our better quality fixtures we have both types and will probably replace the value versionsthe savings in wattage and relam
