Pros & Cons

Pros

These are super helpful for my solar setup and trolling motor setup. Easy to disconnect when removing camper. Use them in trolling motor batteries, crab pot puller and down riggers.

High quality, sturdy thick housings. Seem to be very durable, maybe a little on the brittle side as far as the plastic parts. Easy to put together once you figure out which way the metal inserts go.

Connectors have heavy lugs that i had to solder the 4 gauge cable to. They are of good quality and seem to be consistent enough to for my modular cableing system to work. With a hydraulic terminal compression tool, that is not a problem.

Cons

Tried on 8ga. Lots of wasted time tracking down the problem from battery to switch to solenoid to starter button. Very frustrating and am not confident in them at all. Wasted my money.

Quality

I am impressed with the quality of these connectors

I needed additional connectors for a new battery and my search led me to the hyclat product

With the 8 gauge that i used there was a lot of compressing needed to make a solid and tight connection

I dont think adding 50 cents to the price for the addition of these parts would be unreasonable at all

Competitiveness

Had these connectors for connecting a 48v ebike battery to the control module for an electric bicycle kit on a regular 21speed ...  Read More

Youll definitely want to use a hydraulic crimper for them

The connectors need a heavy duty crimper tool

You pay a fraction of the cost that an oem connector will cost

If you tried to crimp it in place it would probably crush the pins too flat to fit into the connector

I ended up soldering the wire into the pins and used some heat shrink tubing for added protection

Solder’s a better connection any way especially for something that will be exposed to wisconsin winters and road salt

I soldered my lugs but if you plan on crimping be sure you have the proper tool typical insulated terminal crimpers are not strong enough for this task

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

My biggest problem is my crimper doesnt really crimp these lugs properly

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I need to get some metric dies

So if you want to crimp with dies based on dead kings body parts units plan on crimping several times to make them round
