The photo here looks like cardboard but the one i received looks exactly like the factory authorized one i had when i bought my air purifier

I have found that you can cheat and help extend the life of the filters by carefully using your vacuum wand to clean from the outside of the machine then open and run it over the carbon filter to collect larger dust animal hair deposits and then gently in front of the expensive hepa filter and around the edges of the machine where it is not always air tight

I use to purchase this replacement filter at lowes in my area for approximately 54 dollars versus the 78 dollars at amazon but lowes no longer carries the hunter products in air purifiers
