The wire for the detector of outside temperature is quite long and the end can be placed outside with the wire passing through small gaps in the window pane

The outdoor temperature is measured by a sensor at the end of a generously long wire which needs to be passed through a window or similar but it is very thin and causes no obstruction to the operation of the window

Naturally its best not to put the probe where it is in direct sunlight which will give a false reading

No idea if the temperature it shows is guaranteed as accurate but does show temperature moving up and down with ambient temp in general

Unless you have the opportunity to attach it to or near a window the insideoutside temperature is useless

Can’t say anything about the accuracy as i don’t have other thermometers to compare it to but it seems accurate to me and definitely the humiditymeter which i wouldn’t guess from this type of device
