Pros
The best in simplifying human anatomy like all hart’s books. This book is easy to understand and makes anatomy a joy. I always prefer to find the 20% that has 80% of the benefit in anything i study to save myself sometime, and this books delivers it.
These are the shortcuts that are really essential for amateurs and casual sketchers. It strips human anatomy down to what's truly relevant for figure drawing and throws in many useful nuggets for checking your work.

Quality
He even breaks down the nose which was very helpful to me since i struggle with the nose
I had expected to be frustrated with the stick figure i would inevitably draw but it was actually a good picture
The first quarter of the book dealing with the face and facial features didnt impress me

It was also the least expensive considering that the book can currently be had used on amazon for only the shipping cost plus one penny
Packaging/appearance
I almost didnt pick this book up because i havent got much out of the few other christopher hart books ive read
Competitiveness
As an amature artist i picked this up to provide some instruction in drawing the human figure
This book is a no brainer for beginning to intermediate figure artists especially for the price

My only criticism is that in some places the drawings were a little off like a hand that looked like it was being bent backwards but was drawn like it was coming forward

There are a few places where the drawing look a bit off and also where the figures look very geometric from harts shading

Overall id give the head section a three and the section on the body a five but its also not the most fabulous book on artistic anatomy
