Pros

Hultafors trekking axe can be attached to a belt. Comes with a fine leather sheath with a simple leather holding strap. The sheath is better than the one's that come with gransfors axes, but be carful reinserting the blade.

Grans bruks, wetterling etc all seem to be far above the field of the hardware-store hatchet i have been using for many years. The handle is my only nitpick with the hatchet. It carves well also.

Nice polished edge and build quality is great. I was impressed with the first swing. It too is superb.

The hickory handle is excellent. The craftsmanship of the blade is superb.

The head was neatly forged and was free of defects other than a small burr on teh top of the head near the cutting edge. It's sharp, it chops, and it's cool!

Cons

My hunch is that they had a bad forging. They kept grinding away to salvage a forging that should not have been used.

Everybody needs one of these now i am looking at their forrest ax which is larger but only 3 more

The axe arrived on time along with the stone and oil

I ordered one of these and was somewhat underwhelmed when it arrived

Packaging/appearance

This forest axe is the perfect size for packing

Out of the box it didnt feel as sharp as i expected but after 10 minutes with the stone and some gentle circles this thing was sharp

My continued research led me to holtafors the parent company of a few other tool makers one of which uses a foundry dating back to 1697
