Pros & Cons
Pros
This mat is far superior to anything i saw at local big box stores, yet is comparably (and moderately) priced. It's great for beginner yogis.
The mat has good traction -- it's grippy, so my palms don't slip even when i'm a bit sweaty. It would be plenty of cushion on a hard floor unless you have sensitive knees, etc. Besides the cushioning, she really likes the non-slip nature of this mat.
Very durable and lightweight but high quality material and easy to clean. After a year of use, mine still has that nice peeling sound when i unroll it before class. It is thin (but yoga mats were all thin like this one when i purchased yoga mats~)ligh... Read More
The new mat looks and feels the same as my old one, except that i'm sliding around on it more. And all the better, since i'm tall. The only down side i am noticing is that it wears a little faster than i like it to.
Cons
What is the point of a yoga mat that is endlessly slippy? This mat is extremely slippery. Hands just slip all over.
Highlights
Quality
Ive only used hugger mugger brand mats before and the quality seems much better than noname super cheap ones
For example i can do a wideangle leg stretch with the confidence that my feet will stay grounded and will not slide
Unfortunately i practice on carpet so the nonsticky and overly thick mats ive been using have been causing some wrist discomfort for me
Competitiveness
I highly recommend this mat especially if you are not ready to make the jump to the more expensive manduka mats
Much much better than my manduka which i use when i feel like sliping and sliding around in down dog
