Note that it does come with a packet including two closure plugs and two detachable lugs and bolts for mounting to any two of four corner attachment holes in the back of the unit diagonal top only bottom only

I think perhaps the eight box mounting options involve the various ways to use the rear attachment holes and lugs as well as maybe the four small possible knockout holes that surround the rear center conduit opening you can see in the picture

Im thinking the typical usage is going to have only the need to close off the two top conduit openings or the two at the bottom

Ill have to go to the hardware store and get more plugs to make this box fully waterproof
