O-rings need to be lubed occassionally to make connection easier.

I bought two packages of these and another person recommended red washers purdream outdoor garden hose silicone washer gasket, 40pcs red o-rings silicone washer gasket combo pack for 3/4 inch garden hose and water faucet.

They all seemed to break in a few months at the same spot on the threads and get stuck in whatever they were threaded in.

They don't leak (or if they do, you just need to flip the rubber washer or replace it and retighten).

I was expecting it to work like a fitting on an air hose and stop water from flowing when not connected.

It is just a connector and the water needs to be off before connecting or disconnecting.
