When the cable is connected the laptop never recognizes the printer. This thing works sometimes, and its cheep.

Print quality remains quite acceptable and the noise level is very good
I have use it with the usb cable and the printer cable
It came with some photo paper which is neat but the quality cant compare to commercial printing
I dont use it much for color printing any more since its expensive to keep up with the color ink

Its certainly not as fast as a modern printer but it still works
Their ink goes just as fast as any other ptinter

I have had my p1000 for 5 years or more
Try it you will like it like all hp products
I just couldnt buy a new printer when i have several ink cartidges for the hp p1000 photosmart

I was even able to retrofit it to my newest computer with windows 7 even thought its not technically compatible

Just tell the computer youre using a hp deskjet 930 and for some reason itll recognize this printer

Ink is very expensive like any other hp machine but im sure everyone is used to paying a load of money for ink
