Pros
Software allows you to instantly see the image and manipulate it before saving it. It's not the absolute highest scan quality, but for [$] and very little desk space i'm not complaining - it's perfect for web and email stuff.

I choose the hp and have been very happy
That leaves me with the problem of getting all of our snapshots posted on our webpage
It is quick and provides nice quality for webpages but not great printable quality

I was nervous that this scanner wouldnt play nicely with my ibook as i couldnt find any reference on the web to people being able to use it successfully with os x but i should have known better than to worry

I need to be able to scan photos from relatives without the hassle of taking the picture home scanning into my pc sending the picture back to the relative

There are some slight annoyances with os x but not like some of the usb xp issues that ive heard about on various sites
